• Elena & Natalia

What’s a four-letter word that starts with H and ends with E? We hope you guessed HOPE!

We invited Ben Courson, the founder of Hope Generation on The Elena & Natalia Show to share all about the God of hope. As an author, the host of a global TV and radio program, and a gifted speaker based out of Applegate Christian Fellowship, Ben’s vision is, “To Generate HOPE in God and to build a Generation of HOPE.

With every interview that we are blessed with the opportunity to have, our hearts are to serve as a prophetic encouragement to our guest and to declare the words that God would have us speak to them.

As we prepared beforehand for our interview, we planned on asking Ben a series of lighthearted questions, one of them being, “Are you an introvert or an extrovert?” Knowing that one’s personality is far too complex and unique to be limited in terms of either or, we thought of a third option that we felt described Ben much more accurately and that we were compelled to share: HOPETROVERT!

Our interview day came, we asked the question, and Ben elaborated that he’s been in seasons of both introversion and extroversion. As he finished up his sentence, we introduced our lightbulb, or should we say, God-bulb moment, personality type with him, and Ben’s eyes lit up! We also referred to ourselves as Godtroverts, and then Ben enthusiastically added Godfident, and, together, GODFIDENT HOPETROVERTwas coined! Watch the fun moment on-set HERE at the 4:47 mark.

Introverts get their energy from being alone.

Extroverts get their energy from being with people.

Hopetroverts get their energy from being with God and hoping in Him.

Are you a Godfident Hopetrovert? Would you like to become one? Do you want to dare to hope, hope against hope, be fueled by Godly hope, and powered by the hope that God’s desire is to fulfill all the desires of your heart? Live with audacious, childlike and wild hope knowing full well, and having Godfidence, that your Abba Father delights to deliver all of His promises for you and through you!

  • “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” – Jeremiah 29:11

  • Yet I still DARE TO HOPE when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!’” – Lamentations 3:20-24

  • In hope he BELIEVED AGAINST HOPE, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, ‘So shall your offspring be.’” – Romans 4:18

  • Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5

  • May the GOD OF HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” – Romans 15:13

  • Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.” – 2 Corinthians 3:12

  • Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1

We pray that Ben Courson’s heart for sharing the God of hope with you ignites hope within you. Watch our full three-part interview below:

  • Rather than trying to get negative thoughts out, we have to get hopeful thoughts in.

  • If you change the way you look at things, things will change the way they look. Because the problem is not the problem, the problem is my perception about the problem. When my problem’s too big for me, it’s just the right size for God, but my hopelessness about a problem is a bigger problem than my problem.

  • When we can identify who the Lord is, He will give us our identity and we’ll know who we are. I really believe how you perceive God is how you receive from God.

  • Depression is when you try to present an image to the world that’s not who you really are.

  • I’m just going to risk it all and start speaking wildly about hope, because that is what I believe!

  • You can’t have faith or love without hope.

  • It’s not the blues, it’s the Good News!

  • [Hope] is Godfidence, it is confidence, it is absolute certainty. It’s not, ‘maybe’ God will grant me my heart’s desires as I delight in Him, it’s He will. That’s a promise!

  • Our hope is buoyant. It’s not something that’s drowned by waves. Just because our storm is present, does not mean our Savior is absent.

  • We know that pain makes us stronger. Tears make us braver, heartbreak makes us wiser. We thank our past for a better future. We take situations that are painful, convert them into pain fuel. It drives us onwards.

  • Pain is no longer the power that breaks us, it becomes the power that makes us unbreakable, because we walk with the God of hope.

  • I believe that God is never the author of anything destructive. He is everything Light…There’s zero darkness in Him. He does not cause pain, but what he does do, He redeems pain.

  • You’ll never be less lonely than when you get alone with God.

  • You can’t control what happens to you, you can control what comes through you. God doesn’t do anything to you, He only does things for you. But, if He’s going to do something for you, He’s gotta work something in you.

  • The storm didn’t come to stay, it came to pass, and everything’s going to be okay in the end, so if it’s not okay, it’s not the end! It’s okay if you’re not okay, it’s just not okay if you stay that way.

  • You can get people’s pity, or you can get the Prince of Peace’s power.

  • You trust your heart to the Lord, and He will take really good care of it. People will break it. That’s going to happen. When you trust it to the Lord, He will never break it.
